In the old smithy you will find peace and cosyness in the middle of the old market town -Mariager.

Here you stay in a typical "Mariagerhouse" on the cobbled Church Street. The roses bloom just outside the windows.

Church, Harbour, squares, attractions and shops are within walking distance. The old smithy has existed since 2006. Here is a gallery, shop and bed and breakfast.

Sleep well

A visit in our B & B is first and foremost an overnight stay. Therefore, you should be able to sleep weel.

We use good mattresses and feather duvet/pillows . In fact, two pillows per. person is standard.

The bed linen is 100% cotton Finally, we would like to add that even thogh you are staying in the middle of the city, it is cosy and quite calm - so sleep well.

Welcome

We live together in “Den gamle smedje” with our children. As a guest, you will experience that we are very close by and always reachable by phone. We keep our private house separate from the B & B. As a guest you will be handed your own key, so that you can come and go as you please, independently of us. We are open all year and we are looking forward to meeting you. Sincerely Mette & Stig.

Mariager is a charming city with crooked houses, cobblestoned streets and timber framed houses romantically adorned with roses. Mariager is known for its beautiful Rose Garden and the several exciting attractions like the old Veteran Railroad, the Tourboat Svanen, Mariager Saltcenter etc.

B & B

We have five rooms, each with its own bath and some with their own kitchen. In every room there is the possibility of moving in an extra bed. The rooms are therefore suitable for families with children. Four of the rooms are located on Kirkegade 9 and one is Teglgade. They can be rented on a day to day basis or for shorter or longer periods of time. Get a closer look at the rooms here…

On Saturday, March 9th 2013 Mariager was certified as the second Cittaslow city in Denmark. The thought behind the Cittaslow concept is to cherish the identity and soul in the local society, which has to work together in these new times and with the new technology.
